The CBT is a course of five elements

The owner, Andy Litston, has been riding since the tender age of sixteen when he could fill up his FS1E Yamaha (affectionately known as a fizzy) for 50 pence! Which means he has over 47 years of experience. After working for other schools in Frome and Yeovil for five years, he decided to start his own school in his local area. Andy qualified as an instructor in 2007 and teaches CBT, A1, A2, DSA/Direct Access (Full Bike Licence) and Back to Biking.
DVSA Training ratios are as follows:

On the training area maximum
On the 2-hr. road ride maximum
4 students to 1 instructor
2 students to 1 instructor
Please be assured if you book a CBT course with us you will receive a full days training of at least 7 hours, this may not be the case with other schools. If your CBT is shorter than this you are not getting value for money.

What to expect on a CBT?

During the CBT you will learn the basic skills to make you competent and safe to ride on the public road. THE CBT IS NOT A TEST.
Training will take place in the classroom and on-site to begin with, on successful completion of the first four elements you will move on to riding on the public highway to gain road riding experience. Your instructor will be in contact with you via a radio link to guide you and ensure that you are safe.
Most students will take one day to complete the course however, if you are a complete beginner and you are wanting to take the course on a geared bike it may take longer.
At the end of the CBT course, so long as you have reached the required standard, you will be issued with a DL196
certificate which is valid for two years from that date.
